The flora and the fauna

Only tiny fragments have remained now from the original wood species and the composition (solitaires Picea obies, Taxodium distichum, Liriodendron tulipifera, old oak trees)..

Based on the analysis of the vegetation and the historical data we may infer that the oldest vegetation in the park dates back to a period after1808, when the chateau burned down and was progressively restored. Alongside the construction, landscaping of the park was restored. The entire area of the park was regularly maintained until the last owners had left in 1920. Since then very few changes have taken place in the park's composition.

The overall concept of the creation of the vegetation masses can be noticed from the orientation of the sycamore alley and the location of several other precious solitaires (Taxodium distichum, Castanea sativa, Quercus robur “Fastigiata,” Taxus baccata, the Picea abies group).

In the species composition common oak (Quercus robur), characteristic of this degree of vegetation dominates, supplemented with little linden (Tilia vulgaris) and large-leaved lime (Tilia euchlora), Norway maple (Acer pensylvanicum) and sycamore maple (Acer carpinifolium), from the coppice growing hedge maple (Acer tataricum) and the common European ash. The introduced wood species are represented by horse chestnuts (they are attacked by Cameraria orhidela), lote trees and several other species by the piece.
